369: Jeremy Rebmann – Chronicles of an FBI Sniper, SWAT

In this episode, retired agent Jeremy Rebmann reviews three SWAT operations he took part in as a sniper on the Oklahoma City FBI SWAT team, providing details about a mission at Glass Mountain, Oklahoma, during which the subject was fatally wounded, the arrest of a man attempting to bomb a bank full of people, and rescue of three little girls during the SWAT teams attempt to arrest their fugitive father.

Jeremy is the author of the top-10 best-selling non-fiction short story, “Glass Mountain,” and Send Me: Chronicles of an FBI Sniper. Both are available on Amazon. The true crime book is a powerful narrative nonfiction retelling of 13 of the 200 high-risk missions that he and his teammates executed during his 21 years on the team.

“Of course, there’s a shooting investigation. We killed someone. It’s one of those situations where the greatest good most certainly was not to let him kill the agents or run off and make more bombs. It was probably the hardest psychological event I had been through in my life, and I think there was a lot of people afraid to say, ‘Hey, you did a good job.’ It feels a little bit like you’re guilty of something. I really struggled with that.”—Retired Agent Jeremy Rebmann

Special Agent (Retired)

Jeremy Rebmann

9/1999 – 8/2022

Jeremy served in the FBI for 23 years. He was assigned to the Oklahoma City Field Office, where he spent 21 of those years as a SWAT operator, assault team leader, lead medic, senior firearms instructor, and Sniper Team Leader. The missions he executed were the culmination of excellent cases run by case agents working in offices around the country. Jeremy has served on medical mission trips in Mexico, Ghana, Uganda, Togo, Ecuador, Haiti, and Nicaragua. Providing free medical care to others seems like a natural act as a follower of Jesus. During his career, he primarily worked counterintelligence matters, much of which is classified and he can’t talk about. He, along with his team, is the recipient of the FBI’s prestigiou Shield of Bravery.

After completing a total of 32 years of government service, he now volunteers at his church, local shelters, and food banks. He also serves in a lay-counselor ministry.

Jeremy graduated from the US Air Force Academy and, prior to joining the FBI, served as a Sortie Generation Officer and a Special Agent (Captain) in the USAF Office of Special Investigations (OSI) assigned to AFSOC (Air Force Special Operations Command).
